Tree growing
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to our initiative providing food, water and sanitation to those badly affected by Typhoon Vinta. This reporting period we focused our attention to providing seedlings of fruit, timber tree and perennial vegetables for farmers living in the mountain-sides beside the river system which was destroyed during the typhoon. The trees, sand and silt from the hills were the cause of the massive landslide and raging river during the typhoon causing death and destruction along its path. Protecting the hillsides is indeed of urgent importance in order to prevent another recurrence of the calamity. Nobody is starting this yet and we are happy to be in the lead. At the moment we are growing 12,000 seedlings for eventual distribution and tree planting when the rainy season starts.
Hoping for your generous support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesario

Dear Friend,
Greetings and thank you very much for your generous support enabling us to provide help to those affected by Typhoon Vinta. The typhoon was very destructive and so many people lost their lives and until now the recovery from the typhoon is very slow. There is an urgent need to assist those who were severely affected and our intervention providing them with safe sanitation has been effective. Now we are shifting gear and focus our assistance to provide them with vegetable seeds and organic fertilizer that they can use in order to improve their farming enterprise. Your support as well as support from local sources has been instrumental in us able to continue our work especially those who were severely affected.
Again, thank you very much for your generosity.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesario

Constructing rain harvester
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you for your generous support to our project providing food, water and sanitation support to those affected by Typhoon Vinta. This reporting period and based on our field assessment, we found out that there are communities without supply of water as their water systems broke down during the typhoon. With this situation, we decided to construct giant 10,000-liter rain water harvesters that are able to harvest rain water collected from roofs of big buildings such as schools or clinics located in the area. Our rainwater harvester is proven to be very durable as we experienced when we constructed several units during Typhoon Yolanda because until now the harvesters are still functioning and giving much-needed water to local beneficiaries. The harvesters also is very strong being made from concrete and iron wires. They can withstand severe typhoon conditions too. This reporting period we are able to construct 4 units located in 4 villages here. Many thanks to the GlobalGiving Typhoon Tembin Relief and Recovery initiative for the support.
we will continue to provide food, water and sanitation support as well as technical trainings in the coming days.
Very sincerely yours,
Cesario
