In Noto Peninsula, not only are there many people in temorary shelters as their homes have been destroyed, but there are those who who shelter at home.
These "home evacuees" are people who remain in their homes after a disaster rather than moving to official shelters, but they still face serious challenges. They often lack access to supplies, become socially isolated, and struggle with unsafe living conditions, psychological stress, and difficulty asking for help. Because relief efforts usually focus on shelters, the needs of home evacuees are easily overlooked, making proactive outreach and support essential to ensure they are not forgotten or left in hardship.
Responding to these concerns, Operation Blessing Japan has been visiting these home evacuees, delivering relief goods, and trained staff with specialized qualifications accompanied the deliveries, reaching out to each household to ask: "Is there anything you are struggling with?" and "Is there anyone nearby who may also need assistance?"
True support is not only about delivering supplies; it begins with building connections—listening, caring, and reaching out.
Thank you for your heartfelt support as we will continue to move forward, step by step, staying close to those in need and ensuring that no one is left behind.
