Dimos inicio a este año con la serie de Talleres Estima. Es un ciclo de talleres vivenciales ofrecidos por la plataforma virtual Zoom que abordan temas de desarrollo personal: ¿Quién soy?, Comunicación e inteligencia emocional, Manejo de ansiedad y estrés, Sanación de heridas emocionales. Por cuatro semanas, desde el 22 de febrero hasta el 5 de abril, nos conectamos con más de 40 personas de toda la Isla, e incluso de otros países, para compartir experiencias de vida, consejos y herramientas para trabajar con estos temas. Integrando estrategias de consejería profesional y de las Terapias Artístico Creativas ayudamos a los participantes a vivir una experiencia enriquecedora de crecimiento personal. Esperamos repetir este encuentro durante el próximo semestre.
Como ya es tradición en Casa sin Fronteras, el 11 de marzo celebramos la 6ta Jornada de las Terapias Artístico Creativas. Este año fue muy importante para nosotros, ya que logramos retomar esta actividad presencial, luego de los años de distanciamiento social ocasionado por la pandemia del Covid-19. Tuvimos un numeroso grupo de participantes de más de 60 personas, compuesto de niños, jóvenes y adultos de todas las edades. Fue una mañana maravillosa donde disfrutamos de actividades de arte, música, drama y danza. Tuvimos la participación de emprendedores graduados de nuestro programa de Capacitación Empresarial Semillas, quienes ofrecieron al público asistente sus productos. Culminamos con un sonoro toque de bomba, en el que también aprendimos de esta hermosa tradición musical boricua.
Otra actividad que retomamos este año es el 2do Simposio Internacional de las Terapias Artístico Creativas. Este año el tema central del Simposio fue “Creando espacios de bienestar para la niñez”. Nuevamente convocamos a profesionales de diferentes países en las distintas ramas de ArteTerapia, Danza Movimiento Terapia, PsicoDrama y Musicoterapia, para ofrecernos charlas y compartir experiencias de su trabajo y logros utilizando estas terapias con niños. Participaron profesionales de Chile, Paraguay, Ecuador, España, Venezuela, Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico. Además de las charlas educativas, tuvimos experiencias integradoras de las diferentes modalidades terapéuticas para poner en práctica lo valioso de las mismas. La participación del público fue excelente, más de 45 personas entre padres, madres, maestros y profesionales de la conducta, entre otros. Esto nos anima a continuar rompiendo barreras y a seguir este trabajo pionero en Puerto Rico.
Nuestro trabajo se nutre del contacto directo con los particpantes, que son nuestra razón de ser. Por esta razón, continuamos visitando escuelas de diferentes pueblos, para llevar las experiencias de crecimiento integrando la Consejería y las Terapias Artístico Creativas. Durante este semestre trabajamos en la escuela de Sabana Hoyos un ciclo de Musicoterapia con un grupo de estudiantes de primer grado. Fue una experiencia muy bella ver a los niños y niñas desarrollarse, expresarse y aprender a través de la música. Además, continuamos con el programa de servicios sicológicos y consejería individual y familiar en nuestras facilidades.

We started this year with the series of Estima Workshops. This is a cycle of experiential workshops offered on Zoom platform that address personal development issues: Who am I?, Communication and emotional intelligence, Anxiety and stress management, Healing emotional wounds. For four weeks, from February 22 to April 5, we connected with more than 40 people from all over the island, and even from other countries, to share life experiences, tips and tools to work with these issues. Integrating strategies of professional counseling and Creative Art Therapies we help participants to live an enriching experience of personal growth. We hope to repeat this meeting during the next semester.
As a tradition in Casa sin Fronteras, on March 11 we celebrated the 6th Day of Creative Artistic Therapies. This year was very important for us, as we resumed this face-to-face activity, after the years of social distancing caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. We had a large group of participants of more than 60 people, composed of children, youth, and adults of all ages. It was a wonderful morning where we enjoyed art, music, drama and dance activities. We had the participation of entrepreneurs graduated from our Seeds Business Training program, who offered their products to the attending public. We culminated with a sonorous bomba music play, in which we also learned about this beautiful Puerto Rican musical tradition.
Another activity that we resumed this year is the 2nd International Symposium of Creative Artistic Therapies. Thecentral theme for this year’s Symposium was "Creating spaces of well-being for children". We summoned professionals from different countries in the branches of Art Therapy, Dance Movement Therapy, PsychoDrama and Music Therapy, to offer us talks and share experiences of their work and achievements using these therapies with children. Professionals from Chile, Paraguay, Ecuador, Spain, Venezuela, the United States and Puerto Rico participated. In addition to the educational talks, we had integrative experiences of the different therapeutic modalities to put into practice the value of them. The participation of the public was excellent, more than 45 people including parents, teachers, and behavioral professionals, among others. This encourages us to continue breaking barriers, and continue this pioneering work in Puerto Rico.
Our work is nourished by the direct contact with the participants, who are our reason for being. This is why we keep on visiting schools in different towns, and communities, to bring growing experiences integrating Counseling and Creative Artistic Therapies. During this semester, we had the first cycle of Music Therapy at a school with a group of first grade students from the school of Barrio Sabana Hoyos, Arecibo. It was a very beautiful experience to see the children open up, express themselves, and learn through music. In addition, we continue with the program of psychological services and individual and family counseling in our facilities.
