We are extremely grateful to all our GlobalGiving donors for their support since we launched our "Generation Change" project that puts university students together with teenagers to address their concerns about the impact of the pandemic and support the growth of their confidence and their sense of purpose. This support has allowed us to develop a great programme, train our first team of “near peer” (university students) facilitators/mentors to work with young people, and run the workshops with some schools. Thank you.
We are now looking to step up our activity on this project and work with more schools and youth groups. Thanks to the one-day, virtual PeaceJam UK Youth Slam that we held in November, we now have a few new members on our PeaceJam UK Youth Leadership Team and some of them will be joining the "Generation Change" delivery team. We have been consulting with both the Youth Leadership Team and our Teacher Advisory Group about the current situation for the wellbeing of young people. And, to exacerbate the concerns and fears about the impact of the pandemic, young people are now extremely concerned about the dreadful situation in Ukraine and are being fed fake news about the potential for nuclear war across Europe. Our "Generation Change" project is becoming even more important, and we hope to build on the success of the first funding campaign to spread our efforts across more schools and youth groups.
Thank you again for your continued support, it is very much appreciated and very worthwhile. We shall keep you updated on our progress with this project.
