Dear Supporters!
We are grateful for your continued support and goodwill toward the mentally ill in West Africa. Obtaining a less expensive source of medications remains an active goal. We are in discussion with a new US based pharmacy and are working hard to make an arrangement come to fruition. We continue to explore other revenue streams with new partners.
Great news! Our founder, Gregoire Ahongbonon has been awarded the 2021 Geneva Human Rights Award in Psychiatry sponsored by the World Psychiatric Association. See the announcement below. This award is further testament to the impact of Association Saint Camille in the region and will influence other programs throughout the world with this far reaching recogntion. Gregoire will travel to Italy in October to meet the other humanitarians named by the Aurora Foundation. The laureate will be announced at that time.
More great news! A Beninese psychiatrist is now working on site which is a great advantage for the patients and nurses. A psychiatrist on site will be a significant advantage for the new Addiction Center when it opens. The funds have been secured to open it and we look forward to supporting securing addiction - related medications.
Thanks again.
Jocelyn
