Thanks to your generous support, our second cohort of Youth Policy Fellows is well on their way to making powerful change!
This year, guided by feedback from our inaugural group of Fellows, we made some significant changes to the Fellowship in order to deepen its impact. We:
- increased the size the Fellow cohort from six to eight
- added more time to the Fellowship with the addition of monthly Saturday workshops
- added significant content on critical topics like gender justice, and mental wellness and self-esteem for young women of color
These critical changes are really paying off, as we see the Fellows deepening their analysis of the root causes of the systems they are working to change. They have made connections between the sexualization of girls in their schools and broader systems of gender and racial oppression, and between the messages they receive about their worth and their physical appearances.
This spring, using the framework they have developed all year, they will be setting campaign goals and working together to make change on the issues that directly affect their lives!
