BREAD thanks the recurring anonymous donor for continuing his monthly donation of $ 25 for 28 months without a break. BREAD Society has abstained from participating in GlobalGiving campaigns for raising funds as it is not certain as to when and whether the funds will be transferred to it.
BREAD has received Rs. 3.88 lakh donations for Covid-19 and disbursed dry rations to daily wage workers partly at Kakinada and partly at Pune by identifying the beneficiaries.
BREAD could establish only 9 more new libraries in the financial year 2019-20 due to lockdown. In all 170 new libraries have been set up in the financial year 2019-20. This is the maximum number of libraries established in a year ever since this project was taken up in 2009-10, eleven years ago.
BREAD has also prepared material for 12 more new libraries in the current financial year 2020-21 but some of the books sets and bookcases have not reached the schools due to lockdown. In any case none of the 21 new libraries of the last three months could be inaugurated or made functional.
