February 2022 Report

As of February 2022, we, Helping Bull Terriers Worldwide, have provided spay/neuter funds for Bull Terrier Rescue Inc, Bull Terrier Rescue Mission, Bull Terrier Rescue of Central Florida, and 2 other private rescuers totaling 39 dogs to date. We expect this trend to continue and that the SNAP program will be needed. We intend to continue raising funds for this program and are planning additional strategies to promote those efforts.
Since the start of the pandemic, resources have been limited. Now that things are becoming more “normal”, animal rescues are feeling the pressure. There are more pups needing assistance and unexpectedly, there are few veterinarians to provide even basic medical services. HBTW is helping alleviate some of the pressure by providing a safety net of funds for basic and emergency medical care for these bull terriers in rescue.
One special story we want to share is regarding a recent pregnant bull terrier brought into rescue. To many times, rescues take on dogs with limited information and do not know all the medical history. This girl came into rescue and it was discovered at her first vet visit that she was VERY pregnant with at least 10 pups. When it was time for her to deliver, there were complications requiring a C-Section delivery posing a medical threat to both mother and puppies. Luckily, all 12 puppies (yes there were 2 more than expected) and mother overcame the ordeal. HBTW was there to assist with immediate assistance to take the financial pressure off the rescuers so they could concentrate on rehabilitation and care for the mother and the babies. These pups and the many other Bull Terriers being brought into rescue on a daily basis still need our help. HBTW will continue to be there!

As of October 15, 2021, we, Helping Bull Terriers Worldwide, have provided spay/neuter funds for Bull Terrier Rescue Inc (15), Bull Terrier Rescue Mission (12), Bull Terrier Rescue of Central Florida (5), and 2 other private rescuers totaling 34 dogs to date. We expect this trend to continue and that the SNAP program will be needed. We intend to continue raising funds for this program and are planning additional strategies to promote those efforts.

One special story we want to share is regarding a recent owner surrenders. There are three a boy and 2 girls given up by a single owner. These pups, yes, all are less than a year old, were surrendered because the owner is unable to care for them any longer. HBTW will be able to help these pups by assisting the rescuers with SNAP funds for the 2 spays and 1 neuter so that much needed funds for other dogs that have severe medical needs are available. These pups and the many other Bull Terriers being brought into rescue on a daily basis still need our help. HBTW will continue to be there!

Opie, puppy mill survivor and SNAP recipient
As of June 8, 2021, we, Helping Bull Terriers Worldwide, have provided spay/neuter funds for Bull Terrier Rescue Inc (6), Bull Terrier Rescue Mission (7), Bull Terrier Rescue of Central Florida (5), and 1 other private rescuers totaling 19 dogs during the quarter. We expect this trend to continue and that the SNAP program will be needed. We intend to continue raising funds for this program and are planning additional strategies to promote those efforts.
One special story we want to share is regarding Opie, a puppy mill survivor. This boy was rescued from being in a cage constantly with little room. He has pressure sores all over his body including his face. The pressure sores wounds are continually opening can bleeding that Opie developed MRSA. Once Opie stepped out of his life in a kennel and was rescued by Bull Terrier Rescue Mission, Inc., his wounds are now slowly healing. HBTW was able to help Opie rescuers with SNAP funds for his neuter so that the much needed funds for his continual MRSA treatment would not be as strained. Opie and the many other Bull Terriers being brought into rescue on a daily basis still need our help. HBTW will continue to be there!
