Excitement filled the air and helped to overcome the lingering fear of the pandemic. Schools in Thailand reopened in June with an altered schedule. Some of the schools shifted the children into the facility with alternating days and hours. We had children attending during the morning hours for three days each week and some attending evening hours five days weekly. We had several selected to attend during the afternoon hours three days each week. Seem chaotic?
Well, it worked! The care to resume social gatherings, including school, proved to reinstate normalcy with minimal negative impact of COVID-19's pandemic. The afterschool programs at GRACE altered, too. Afterschool access changed to provide services before school and during days altered out-of-school. The staff flexed their times and meet the needs.
Last week, schools resumed pre-pandemic schedules. The afterschool program altered to provide afterschool services five days each week and until later each day in order to accommodate the need to access tutorial assistance, computer class skills and English language classes.
Your ongoing financial support provides these services. These days have increased vulnerabilities. Due to the financial challenges, a couple of families moved from the cities to rural provinces of their homeland. Simultaneously, new children and families have registered in the programs.
The eagerness of learning and anticipation of being with friends and their GRACE family brightens the faces of many children and parents/guardians. Thank you for providing such great hope.
