closer to reality

New space
New space

Many in San Miguel will tell you that the founder of Ojala Ninos, ElsMarie Norby, has done more for the children in our community  than almost any body else, especially when it comes to Music. She started studying music at age four. She is a graduate of St.Olaf College.

Sharing her talent, love and appreciation of music for years through building and directing choirs, she has gained  recognition and to the benefit of many, including Ojala Ninos, attracting the likes of The Yale University Choir.

A few years back we were contacted that the choir would like to perform for our organization. We had no facility for them to perform but that didnt stop us and we arranged for them to sing A capella in front of the church in San Miguel Viejo. It was a special opportunity for the whole community, an unforgettable experience!

This past March, The Yale Symphony Orchestra expressed interest in sharing another performance. Thanks to your continued support we were better equipped to receive them. We had a sheltered, viable space to accommodate 50 orchestra members, with their instruments! Another unforgettable experience for our community!

We still have a long way to go.These are the opportunities we want to continue to offer along with our regular workshops and classes that are held Monday through Friday, at No cost to the children and the adults we serve.

It brings great joy when a child experiences something that provokes interest and curiosity. A spark that perhaps encourages them on a better path. We want to continue to provide opportunities to the community of San Miguel Viejo and are so grateful for your support!
